Watch Box

| March 2022 |

This is a two-tier modular watch box that is made from Mahogany for the shell and Jatoba dovetail keys in each corner. The lumber was milled down to 1/2" and 1/4" pieces from a 2"x10" piece of Mahogany. The outer box and lid are made from 1/2" pieces with a rabbit in the bottom for the base and a dado in the top for the clear acrylic lid. The miters on the outer box and removeable inner tray are reinforced with dovetail keys. The top tray has a modular removeable divider in the center section that can be used to place two watches or for larger items such as sunglasses. The tray is raised up by two blocks on the inside of the box. The lid has two hinges on either side in the back, a clasp in the front, and a 1/4" round over. For the lining, adhesive backed velvet was laser cut and adhered in place. The watch pillows are made from black satin and stuffed with recycled fabric. Finally, the box was finished with an oil-based polyurethane.
